The position is primarily responsible for driving the business by executing national initiatives to provide an opioid alternative, advances in rapid recovery protocols and regional blocks to as many surgical patients as possible, as well as pain management, arthritis, nerve pain patients. Develop key relationships and access for Pacira Commercial and Medical Teams.
The position will partner with device and industry companies, design physicians, professional education and commercial teams orthopedic, anesthesia and pain management key influencers, professional societies, residency and fellows' programs, key physician groups, outpatient organizations and foundations to identify significant growth opportunities and solidify Pacira’s position in the surgical and pain markets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own business plan for respective vertical and other areas of responsibility as defined in annual goals and objectives
  • Focus on fellowship and residency programs developing relationships for all Pacira departments
  • Develop and maintain relationships with society leadership and faculty
  • Work and Identify opportunities with key physician groups
  • Facilitate meetings with key HCP for all Pacira departments
  • Partner directly with field teams, including Regional Sales Leadership, to execute on strategic commercial opportunities
  • Integrate field teams by facilitating or leading programs, training, key account strategies and meetings, leveraging Pacira departmental resources and expertise
  • Drive product, customer, and account strategy with Pacira leadership, and sales organization
  • Identify, support and in some cases lead resolution of field-related challenges
  • Interface with key companies for educational and access opportunities (Ex. DPS, Stryker, Zimmer, etc)
  • Interface with key device faculty from companies that will compliment from the Pacira product portfolio
  • Meet with key HCP customers and develop local, regional, and national KOLs on behalf of Pacira and Partner organizations
  • Identify opportunities to work with key systems and build relationships to better understand how we can collaborate and develop long term plans for successful partnership.
  • Optimize sales collateral, marketing tools, professional education and other resources to support sales process
  • Lead or participate in various meetings, field-related task forces, and working groups in support of Team goals
  • Provide commercial presence at various conferences, courses, programs, and meetings
  • Support commercial due diligence on business development opportunities, support integration of new products or company acquisitions, and lead training for onboarding and launching of new products
  • Work with Non-Opioid Foundations and Institutions
  • Work closely with executive leadership to achieve organizational goals
  • Provide field intelligence, trends, and insights for departments and company leadership
  • Support Business Analytics/Operations in creation, roll out, and use of field reports and dashboards to field force

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8-10 years of successful medical surgical experience and/or hospital-based pharmaceutical/ medical device sales experience
  • Experience in account management, with knowledge of, and interaction with, various stakeholders across a hospital
  • Prior spine, spine society and spine pain management experience. Inclusive of spine neuroanatomy, spine OR, pain management, and industry knowledge.
  • Experience in spine clinical pathways, outcomes for both inpatient and outpatient sites of care.
  • At least two years of experience in a Pacira commercial role/ with Pacira products preferred

Qualifications:
  • Experience in the surgical spine market, including Academic Programs, outpatient spine and relationships with current spine faculty members.
  • Experience in the spine anatomy and neuroanatomy with ability to train and educate physicians on the application of these current techniques and their importance to their patients. (Such as field blocks, regional blocks, Awake fusions, etc.)
  • Current knowledge and relationships with key society leadership and support people such as NASS, CNS, SMISS, SOLUS, etc.
  • Highly skilled in discussions involving on label clinical reprints related to EXPAREL and iovera and experience working with gaining drug approval through hospital P&T committees and Value Analysis Committees
  • Proven ability to develop and drive account and surgeon targeting strategies leveraging corporate tools and resources (e.g. analytics, programs, and sales resources)
  • Strategic thinker with strong knowledge and expertise in a variety of surgical specialties (orthopedics required)
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with a sense of urgency is required and drive accountability and influence others of all levels within and across functions and organizations
  • Superior work ethic and communication skills across all types and levels of stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross functional team and be a valuable contributor within a team environment
  • Approximately 50%-60% travel is required, including some evenings and weekends.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop. This position requires considerable hospital presence and requires the ability to walk and stand for periods of time and to navigate through hospitals, surgical centers and other healthcare facilities, including ORs.
The employee is regularly required to travel by automobile as well as by airplane and other forms of public transportation. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time (up to several hours straight). The employee will be required to move quickly in OR and other hospital environments.
